We're looking forward to watching Arco ourselves! Although it screened at the Annecy Festival this year, it was difficult to get tickets for Arco, so we weren't able to see it then. Hopefully we have the opportunity soon.
Absolutely. Dwarf has always been a pretty unassuming studio, and it's still small after all these years, but its track record is amazing. It's an institution at this point!
It feels like our love of stop motion grows every year -- so much incredible work has been done with it, all over the world. Even the earliest surviving animated feature, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, is stop motion! Japan's tradition of stop motion has been an obsession of ours this year, and we're happy that we could cover dwarf's place in it.
Jiri Trnka and dwarf studio in the same week. Thanks so much for the great articles!
Thanks for the kind words! It's a thrill to publish on-the-ground reporting about dwarf -- it's a studio we have huge respect for.
Thanks always for the inspiration! Here’s a link to my latest stop frame effort

Appreciate your sending it over -- lots of charm in this one, and very nice storytelling!

Sometimes it's the softer footsteps that make the loudest noise. Superb craftsmanship.

That's what's up. Well they deserve to be appreciated for their work. It's amazing.
Out of all the different mediums for animation, 2D and stop motion are my absolute favorites!
I’m especially engrossed by stop motion because of the tactically of it all and how the characters and sets actually exist.
