I love this newsletter, even if I don't read every issue, because as a kid I wanted to be an animator. I should search through your back catalogue on Don Bluth's work, as I don't remember if you've covered him yet, but some of his films were some of my favorites as a child growing up. Every week with your newsletter there's always some small gem, and it's given me some great insights about creating and writing story, even though this is a different medium compared to what I do. Good luck in 2024!
Many thanks! It's awesome to know that you're getting so much out of it -- we always hope that what we write will be useful to people even outside animation. (And we have covered Bluth's work once or twice, in the early days. Writing more about him has been a long-term goal, which we'll hopefully get to do soon!)
Congrats! You are immensely thorough, and talented. Your respect for the medium, artists, and animation history shines through. Honestly, I believe your newsletter is such a pillar in the artist and animation "community" and art history "community". Your talent and rate (speed to highlight both high budget and more niche films does not go unnoticed! ❤️💌
We're really honored by this comment. Thank you! We try hard to deliver an article worth readers' time in every issue, and messages like this make it feel like we're doing something right.
After quitting social media a few years back I'd been looking for exactly what you're putting out: a way to stay in touch with my love for the art of animation, without having to sift through platforms that provide tons of other (mostly aggravating) content. It's incredibly difficult to stay up to date nowadays without direct access to social media feeds, and your style of thorough reporting is an absolute joy.
Genuinely so grateful to be able to rekindle one of my deep passions through your own critical, informed approach. I especially appreciate how wide your lens is, and have added so many artists/films/studios to my list to research and engage with since I've started reading. Cannot thank you enough!
It's an honor to know that the newsletter has benefited you this much -- we're so happy that it's helped you to reconnect with animation. Thank you for this wonderful message!
Thanks, Richardson! And we're happy to send people toward your newsletter -- it's great, and there's really nothing else like it in English. Wishing you all success as it continues.
The most compelling animation resource I've ever come across in my 20 years of studying and working in animation. Kudos for staying true to the vision!
This newsletter is so awesome, and worth every penny. If you every feel caught without an article fully ready, I'd happily take a low-key tour of some of your research materials instead!
Congratulations, I sometimes forget how much I enjoy this newsletter (I have to remember to make time to read it sometimes). But I'm always so inspired afterwards, and have to mention; forever grateful for you to introducing me to Zagreb animation. If you find anything interesting to write about Masaaki Yuasa, I think that'd be a wonderful read 🤔😅
Thanks very much! Regarding the Zagreb cartoons, we're happy we could point you in their direction -- those artists produced a lot of classics. We're probably overdue for another dive into the Zagreb School, honestly. And we'll keep Yuasa in mind! We got a lot out of Ping-Pong back when that came out and there could be a story there at some point.
Very much one of the best, most enjoyable, and deepest of the things I subscribe to or follow. Thank you!
This is incredibly kind -- thank you. It means a lot!
Congrats on 3 years! I’m a fan :)
Thank you very much!

That's really high praise -- thank you so much! We'll keep trying our best with this thing.
The best animation channel I've seen in my life. It has reinvigorated my love for animation.
Thank you so much for this lovely comment! Wow. So happy you're getting this much out of the newsletter!
Thank you ALL for your wonderful contribution.
Thank you!!
I'am new to this site. However, it has quickly become one of my go to for all things animation. I wish you continue success.
Thank you very much. It's awesome to hear that you're enjoying it so far -- and we hope you'll like what we've got planned for the rest of 2024.
Congratulations on Three years!! 🎉
Thank you, Andy! We really appreciate your ongoing support!
