Never heard of 'Catnapped!' Looks very original. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

I thought I recognized that art style from Nightmare and Tree of Palme (an uneven film I like quite a bit). Nakamura has really great character design throughout all his features/projects. Thanks for another great dive into something off the beaten path.

His style really does stand out -- there's nothing else quite like it. Glad you enjoyed the piece, and thank you!

Illuminating issue as usual! but I must focus on that gem of a video you shared in Newsbits—Miyazaki in that pre-recorded message 😂😂😂 He could not be more Miyazaki. And the interviewer, at the end 😂 I think I laughed the whole time. Thanks for kicking my day off this way.

Haha, happy you liked that video! It's so much fun -- we absolutely had to include it.

I loved Catnapped as a kid! Hardly anyone knows or remembers it, but it's stuck with me all these years later. This is my first time seeing art from it and there's just something about Japanese concept art that tickles my brain just right 🧡

It's a great film! We were really excited to get our hands on concept art for it -- information about Catnapped is so limited. Thanks for the comment!

Discovered this movie on Youtube like a month ago. Such crazy fun stuff. Great to see some background to it!

It's so good! We fell in love with this one when we finally watched it. Seeing Catnapped just makes you wonder how much other stuff this good is hiding out there under the radar -- it really should be more famous than it is.

Woah!…another overlooked classic that I first saw at the International Animation Festival in Pasadena back in 1997.

Quite why it’s never flagged up is a mystery - a close second to the other cat themed film “Night On the Galactic Railroad”

It really does seem like it should be more popular than it is -- especially since (probably because of a rights issue?) it's been freely available on YouTube for over a decade. Hopefully with enough time it can overcome its obscurity problem, and maybe even get an official re-release.
