Thanks for continuing this yearly tradition! You always dig up something new when I think I've seen it all. As a fan of Czech animation, The Dodals peeked my interest this time around.

Next time you could include films to purchase online. A computer file is not as fancy of a gift as a DVD / Blu-Ray, but sometimes excellent animation is hidden behind a 2-5 € payment wall that can make us sleep on it for years in the hopes that one day it becomes available for free; a holiday is a good excuse to finally snatch them. A couple of suggestions: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/monpapisestcache https://vimeo.com/ondemand/dreamsintodrawing

As ever another brilliant post. I love the gift ideas and that Klassen’s The Skull made it on there. Thanks for this, some fantastic festive ideas.

Kudos on the Hilda shout-out! I've been a fan of those books even before show was greenlit.

Wonderful post! Another possible gift idea is a Zoetrope from Spanish company Hemisferium. A little bit pricey but so so cool. My wife got me a second hand one for Christmas this year (surprise was ruined because she wanted to check w/ me before buying)

I’m not a animator but those books recommendations was too good to not put on my list 😁
