The links are fantastic. Luki and the Iranian film were both heart-rending. It's late at night for me so I'll wait until tomorrow to explore the others and it's best to take a pause to absorb the emotions from both of them. Thank you so much.

This is amazing to hear! Glad you're getting so much out of the films.

I’m going to make a “donation” by subscribing for two months. Retired fixed income makes yearly subscriptions a push.

I’m also going to gift a couple of one month subscriptions.

For your gifting suggestions I’d include the idea they can gift one month or more subscriptions which end at the month so there is no worry about them having to cancel.

We deeply appreciate the support -- thank you. And you make a good point about the one-month gifts. It's not something we'd considered but makes a lot of sense. We'll keep this in mind for the future.

I think it would be a nice way to give someone a “taste” as a way to introduce them.

I saw Luki and the Lights at San Diego Comic Con's Children's Film Festival. It was my favorite entry of the ones I saw. Glad you're highlighting it!

It's a really strong film. We weren't sure what to expect going in, especially because the subject matter is so delicate -- but the team did a great job. Happy to share its story!

Help....I can't figure out how to play the Russian shorts....I keep just getting what I assume is the festival 29 sec intro.........and a message, "your browser prevent autoplay"....On a Chromebook using Chrome.

You're right -- it looks like they may have been taken down since our issue went out. They were online on Sunday. We read they were only available for a limited time, but it wasn't clear how long that would be. Apparently shorter than we realized, unfortunately!

Everything is more limited in Russia, tovarish.

Thanks for this. I have someone fascinated with animation and I'll review your extensive list before Christmas.

Thanks so much for this! As an aspiring animator, this is super helpful. Love everything you put out :)

Really kind -- thank you! Happy you're enjoying the newsletter. Wish we could've included some more explicit how-to-animate stuff in the guide, like we have in the past, but we weren't able to find anything that fit in time (note Jason's comment about Alex Grigg up above). Still, there's definitely a lot that can be picked up from these!

I have to say (sorry if I’m a broken record here) that Alex Griggs animation masterclass course might well be the best present anyone could have bought me. Sadly I bought it for myself but your followers might have someone who would benefit.

Ah, we were aware of his YouTube videos but didn't realize he had a master class for sale! Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm glad you called Robot Dreams a cult feature

It definitely is one -- especially after the Oscar nomination!
