Stimulating and inspiring creativity. I think Animation Obsessive has been without a doubt one of my favorite newsletters of the 0th year on Substack precisely because of its great ability to stimulate ideas and the desire to get to work on something creative.

Personally, I write a newsletter that is about the psychological and social aspects of AI. So, there is nothing directly connected to this. However, I found it absolutely inspiring. Also because I think that the care, attention, and commitment that is put into each issue clearly shines through. I would be really curious to know more about the behind the scenes of this newsletter. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Riccardo! This is an extremely nice comment -- it makes us happy to read.

As to your question, there are two of us here (Jules and John) who handle the day-to-day of the newsletter. Putting an issue together begins with a bunch of studying, and we usually draw from our collection of international books, magazines, DVDs and Blu-rays that we've built up as research material. We also dig through online resources: Newspapers.com, Arcanum Newspapers, the Internet Archive, the Wayback Machine, etc.

There's a lot. Some issues come together quickly, but it can take months or years for us to find enough material to tell a complete story. We mentioned The Real Lupin in our roundup -- for that one, we first started gathering stuff in 2021!

Thanks again, and happy holidays!

This is very interesting, and kudos to Jules and John for the exceptional daily work. I also get inspirations from your notes, that are perfectly in line with your purpose. Happy holidays and I hop Animation Obsessive will continue to grow.
