I am truly fascinated by this newsletter, which has become one of my favorites. And not only for the topic, which has always been fascinating for me and stimulates my creativity to the maximum, but also for the sometimes 'playful' way in which you combine the concrete creation of animations and drawings with insights, background and analysis, all always in a 'juicy' way. Furthermore, I think these recapitulation issues are very important and you have probably inspired me for one in the near future regarding the many papers I talk about in my newsletter. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much! It's awesome to hear that you're liking the newsletter so much. And we're really happy you pointed that out -- it's definitely our goal, mixing those elements. Even when we get technical we never want it to be too dry, and we love to know that that's coming across. (Glad we could inspire you with this format as well!)
Enjoy your break, hope you enjoy the focus on research and other necessities! Excited to read your next issues already.
Thanks as always for your hard work, this newsletter is my favorite and always a joy to read. You unearth such interesting information, present it accessibly, and contribute your own insightful analysis thanks to your expertise on the topic of animation.
And as a bonus you keep readers like me motivated to work on our own craft and follow in the footsteps of giants. <3
Thank you for this very kind message! We really appreciate it. It's always a hope of ours to motivate/inspire artists with the newsletter and we're really happy to hear it's working.
Enjoy your well-deserved break, guys!! I know you'll be back in full-swing when you return. Do you plan on covering the SDCC animation festival? I'm really looking to forward to that when I attend the con for the first time.
Thanks very much, Samuel! And hope you enjoy Comic-Con. We actually weren't aware that it included an animation festival, but that's cool to hear -- we'll keep an eye out for news about it!
The best part about these round-ups is that I find out about a great article that has slipped through the cracks - in my case, the retrospective on Robert Sahakyants. Good stuff! Your break is well-earned.
The newsletter is amazing, and I'm always excited to see it in my inbox. All of the hard work and love for animation is apparent in each and every article.
Oh maaan, I didn’t know about your stupid break. July’s gonna suck! Kidding, but not - little I look forward to as much as Thursday/Sunday’s articles
Haha, thank you very much! It's an honor to hear that. Hope you'll enjoy what we've got planned for the next batch of articles!

Where’s that Miyazaki clip from you posted today?
You can find that right here on Notes: https://substack.com/@animationobsessive/note/c-60150386
Is there a complete documentary somewhere I can see?
It comes from The Making of Only Yesterday, which is luckily on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Jb8zG-EXes
