I loved the Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends! It's so intersting to see how he designs characters and prefers to keep his design simple and clear.

His creative philosophy is so fascinating! We had a great time learning why and how he makes these decisions. Glad you liked it!

Another great post. The development pieces never cease to amaze me how much effort and creativity goes into each piece. A true genius 😁

He's so humble and nonchalant about it, but he's really one of the best at what he does. It was amazing to talk to him. Thanks as always for the kind words!

When did Cartoon Network become available for West Coast viewers? I'm genuinely surprised to learn about the channel's limited availability.

This was news to us as well! Digging around, it seems that the full-fledged West Coast feed went live in early 1998. Old newspapers we found suggest that Dexter's Laboratory *was* being watched in California before that, but the schedules were weird (time zone differences) and, in those days, not every cable provider carried it.

I'm really surprised to hear they have to put a package together to get Powerpuff Girls funded and off the ground, because the announcement last year made it seem like it was a done deal. And really sad to hear about the state of Netflix animation.

We've been hearing similar stories around the California industry -- lots of canceled projects, very few job openings, nothing getting greenlit. It's a pretty dire situation. Like Craig mentioned, the hope is that things cycle back around eventually.

Wow. This interview should get picked up by news outlets. Very buzz-worthy.

Craig is such a gem in the animation community - after all these years and so many huge shows he still feels like a regular guy. I remember when he first joined social media he would ALWAYS credit the artists individually when sharing stuff (even if that artist was himself.) It was so charming and old-school. Both him and Lauren Faust have such good takes on the industry. It's good to hear a current (if disappointing) checkup here, yet of course Craig's optimism still shines through!

Thanks, Daniel! He really does act like a regular person -- it's so cool. Both he and Lauren Faust are people we admire a lot in the industry, and not just for their great track records! Talking to Craig was a real honor.
