Thank you! We were trying to figure out how to give the article a "director's commentary" kind of feel even though it's in text, and GIFs seemed like the solution. Glad you liked the piece!

This is such a great interview— it's col to hear that a lot of this was just playing and trying things out; it really was the only think that looked like this when it came out. Super cool

Thanks so much! And for sure -- we were surprised to learn how off-the-cuff this video seems to have been, all things considered. It turned out so unique, and had such an impact, after maybe 90 days of freeform work. Really shows what's possible.

Fascinating to see how necessity can lead to such innovation. So cool to see the gifs and the sheer oozing of creativity. Sunshine in a bag! 🦍

It's something we come across a lot -- limitations leading to creativity. Things don't always work out that way, but they can, and it's awesome. Glad you liked the piece!

Pete Candeland’s storytelling and innovative techniques are inspiring! His belief in simplicity—"not over-animating"—is a refreshing reminder of the power of focused creativity. The interview gives a fascinating look at how Clint Eastwood shaped animation history. Plus, I love this song. It brings back so many memories.

Thanks, Jon! Glad you liked it. Have you seen the behind-the-scenes clip about how Damon Albarn created the song's instrumental? It's gold: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn8ocOsdbEo

Maybe my favorite post from you guys. I wish it was longer! That first Gorillaz album and the Clint Eastwood video were massive for me when they came out.

my first ever animation job was at Passion a year or so after this, 2002 or 2003 ish. He always seemed like a such cool dude but I was so intimidated by him, fresh faced kid that I was 🌱
