I really enjoyed this deep dive into Downtown! Your interview with Chris Prynoski was fascinating, mainly focusing on capturing authentic '90s New York life. I loved learning about the creative process behind such a unique and iconic series. Brilliant as ever.
i have always loved animation and finally with the leaps in technology am starting to create some on my own. AO’s knowledge base and pointers really have been inspiration to me. AO has helped me to know some animation giants and heroes and to see whats possible. i want to give you a very sincere Thank You!

Really awesome to hear this! We always hope that what we write will help people -- thank you for letting us know, and good luck!
God, Downtown is a sick show, its so upsetting that it got canceled. Have you reviewed Daria?
We haven't yet, actually! It's one we've only really discovered in recent times and still need to watch more of.
Wow I haven’t thought of Daria in ages. I’ll have to look up Downtown.
It's a really interesting show! Definitely worth a look if you're into that era and style of animation.
I loved Downtown, 90s animation was so good!
It's a really unique show! Getting to learn a little more about it from Chris was a lot of fun.
I just finished watching Downtown, so this interview comes as a perfect coincidence! I think you should cover Mission Hill sometime.
Thanks for the recommendation -- we've never watched it ourselves but may need to check it out!
This was such an interesting post!! Excellent as always!
Thank you so much! That's really kind -- happy you liked it.
Thanks for highlighting Anne Bernstein. She was a treasure.
We were happy to do it -- we never had the chance to meet her ourselves, but she sounds like she was a really, really cool person.
