I just read the book. I think it's fascinating how art can create other art, and your article delves into that idea very thoughtfully.

Thank you! It's such a complex thing to adapt an existing work, and it's always interesting to see why people make the decisions/changes they do.

Holy Moly. I just learned of this through the substack article...and two things have peaked me hard:

You use the term "spectacle" here. I have recently been posting parts of Guy Debord's "The Society of The Spectacle". Worth checking out!!!

And...the fact that you;ve wired $$ to Czech gov. for files...Dudes!!! See if you can in any way get a hold of the historical film,...which a friend of mine in Hawaii returned to them some years ago...of the band that made the revolution there: "The Plastic People of the Universe"!

Started by a bearded Oregon hippie, it fueled it all. Astounding story, all in all. I was told personally, by this friend who had to leave, be declared dead, etc.

So, yeah, that's a big one you could look for....sure it's out there.

And, as far as the jolly so much fun to be around Czech's go, the city of Brno still holds a yearly "Silly Walks".

Far as animation goes, I have an idea for years for an animation, but the topic is not all that popular.....yet, I would LOVE to see it happen!! It would be very informative, to say the least.....but, I'm lame at all this tech. I won't even have a phone. Pretty much out there most of the time....quantum mind.

Oh, and congratulations on your success here.

Haha, thank you! Lots to think about here. And the Brno silly walks are awesome -- thanks for letting us know about them!

Thanks for this post. Hemingway was up to multiple "fishing" in the hot zone!! I am awed by this artist, how he worked with his hands and body. Again, beautiful, mahalo.

Yes, it's a bit goose bumpy the spectacle angle in this art....which I've recently contemplated via Debord. Whew!!
